Defcon is the largest hacking convention in the world. It has been celebrated for over 17 years. Every summer in Las Vegas, hackers from all over the world get together for this annual celebration. This is a conference where all the latest updates on security issues are made public. Here is where the most important vulnerabilities are shown to the world.
This year around 8,000 visitors arrived, with 200 speakers who among those was Pedro Joaquin, a Security Researcher here at Webvuln. Pedro Joaquin has many years of experience in the security industry and over the last few years he has been researching vulnerabilities on modems that are used worldwide. At Defcon 17, he presented "Attacks on 2wire Gateways" and made public a high impact vulnerability that allowed authentication bypass and drive by router pharming.
